A few days prior to this shoot, I received a call about a couple not being able to reach their original wedding photographer. Feeling awful for this couple, as their hopes to arrange the perfect engagement session over the next few days deteriorated, I agreed to take them on last minute and give them the best I could offer without any hesitation.
We started the engagement session off at the Rochester Hills Public Library. The couple, who was expecting to have a traditional winter engagement shoot welcomed the unusually warm February weather on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon.
They told me about the nerves they had about getting in front of the camera for the first time and admitted their feelings of uncertainty about the shoot considering what happen.
Bringing them back to what this session is really supposed to be about, I worked with them and watched those uncertain feelings fade away as the chemistry between these two filled my frames. They were loving every minute of the attention!
Excited about where we went within the first half of the engagement session, we decided it was a perfect time for a wardrobe change. We trotted along the rocky downtown ravine, and wrapped up the session in a romantic woodland area.
The situation that brought us together was unfortunate, but I’m truly so grateful because now I get to hang out with this beautiful couple again later this year on their wedding day!
